We definitely didn't know that! So that's what the hole in the airplane window is for!

Some of the assumptions are that the dimples prevent icing and improve visibility, but no one is sure about these myths, which spread at the speed of light.

Each window has 3 panels: outer, middle and inner, and the windows must withstand enormous pressure because they are made of a synthetic material, much more resistant and stronger than glass.

Throughout this story, the hole exists so that a certain amount of air can pass through it to equalize the pressure in the two zones – the cabin and the outside space. Otherwise, the pressure is too great, regardless of the strength of the panels.

If something happens to the outer panel, the middle and inner panels are designed to withstand more pressure, for a longer period of time, thanks to this opening.

It is also true that the "breather" also has the function of preventing freezing.
