In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishburne became the youngest parents in Britain - a title that remained associated with their names for a long time.

April was only 13 years old when she became pregnant, and when their son Jamie was born, they were both already 14.

Their story hits the front pages of the tabloids and provokes violent reactions – surprise, condemnation, sympathy and a lot of public discussion. The two young parents admit they didn't use protection after their first attempt at contraception wasn't well received by Nathan.

Nathan's parents – Julie and Ron, a retired heavy-duty truck driver – initially react with anger.

Ron later told the British publication The Sun that he had reprimanded his son severely, calling his action reckless. At the same time, he stressed that what had happened could not be undone and that they would accept little Jamie into their family without distancing themselves from him.

Jamie was born in November 2010 by emergency caesarean section. He weighed approximately 4 kilograms at birth. The first few days were a challenge – the boy had an underdeveloped oesophagus, which made it difficult to feed. After surgery and 11 days under medical supervision, he was discharged in good condition.

When the British media learned about the case, Jamie was already four weeks old. He was living with his mother in her parents' home.

To better understand the situation, April and the newborn share a room with her 17-year-old sister, Robin, who helps feed the baby. The family setting is unusual - a young mother facing the challenges of parenthood while still living under her parents' roof.

Nathan lives a few kilometers away with his family.

Despite the unconventional circumstances, April is determined to be the best mother she can be to her son. She says that even though Jamie wasn't planned, she will do whatever it takes to provide him with love and care.

In 2010, their future seemed uncertain. Nathan expressed a desire to spend time with his son on the weekends, while Jamie stayed with his mother during the week.

Fortunately, the support of her family and friends remains constant. Her mother and sister love having Jamie in the home. When the boy starts school, it gives her a chance to consider future plans - including a possible return to education.

Today, April's life looks vastly different. She's now a mother of three children - Jamie Rhys, Rowan David and Ava Lianne. At 28, known as April Lianne, she's in a stable relationship with her partner Jake Jones and seems confident in the new phase of her life.

Nathan also went his own way. In February 2023, he got engaged to his partner Samantha and started a new family with several children.

Their story shows how serious the challenges of teenage pregnancy are – societal pressures, personal doubts, and the difficulties of early parenthood.

Despite everything, both April and Nathan managed to build a stable life for themselves and their children. Today, both are involved in raising their families and moving forward in their own ways.
