A seven-year-old girl realized that a man dressed in black was following her… but instead of going home, she made a completely unexpected decision.

 

There are stories that send shivers down your spine. Not because of the fear they inspire, but because of the admiration they evoke. That day, 7-year-old Léna was walking home peacefully from school when her instinct told her something was wrong. What did she do next? A lesson in courage and clear thinking, one that should inspire young and old alike.

A disturbing figure at the entrance of the building

It was an ordinary late afternoon. Schoolbag on her back, scarf over her shoulder, the little girl walked slowly across the courtyard of her building. But as she approached, a dark figure caught her eye. A tall man, dressed in a long black coat, stood motionless near the entrance. His face, half-hidden by a scarf, barely revealed a scrutinizing gaze.

He barely moved, but his eyes seemed to follow her every step. The atmosphere became oppressive. No passersby, no car noises, just her… and this stranger.

The instinct for survival, from the very first seconds

Lena  slowed down, all her senses on high alert. The memory of advice from her father,  Thomas , came back to her: "If a stranger approaches you and you feel threatened, make noise and look for a light. Don't wait." She had never forgotten that advice. And she was about to remember it in a spectacular way.

The man took a step forward. Then another. She quickened her pace. So did he.

She doesn't panic: she takes action!

Just steps from the door, she made an instinctive but crucial decision: she absolutely must not go home. She knew that being alone in an enclosed space with a stranger could be far more dangerous. So she did the exact opposite.

She abruptly switched on the stairwell lights, flooding the entrance with light. Then, without hesitation, she pounded on the first door she saw. And she screamed. Loudly. Loud enough to make the walls echo.

Help  ! Someone help me!

The response was immediate.

A door opened wide, revealing a man with a surprised look,  Julien , followed by his partner,  Camille . In an instant, the atmosphere changed: there was no longer a little girl alone, but an awake, alert adult, ready to intervene.

Faced with this scene, the man in black stepped back, clearly taken aback. Without a word, he turned on his heel and disappeared into the shadows.

Small in stature, great composure

Lena , trembling, was immediately taken into the apartment. A glass of water, a blanket, reassuring words… Little by little, her breathing calmed.

But in her eyes shone something other than fear. It was a quiet but profound pride. She had reacted quickly and correctly. She had listened to her instincts. She had protected herself.
