She became a world star with her role in a cult series. Today, she is 84 and still as charming:

In the 80s, everyone admired her beauty and talent. She played the main role in a popular series. Today she is 84 and unrecognizable. You better sit down before you find out who she is...

Linda Gray became famous thanks to her role as Sue Ellen Ewing in the popular soap opera Dallas.

She starred in over 300 episodes of the show, and despite her successful career, Grey also faced numerous personal difficulties.

Linda Gray's life was an extraordinary one—a true American roller coaster, you might say. She battled life-threatening illnesses, addictions, and an unhappy marriage.

Her father, whom she describes as a rather cold man, was always supportive of her career. Her mother was a heavy alcoholic, so Linda and her sister had to take care of the house for a long time.

"She didn't get drunk, she never yelled," Linda writes in her book. "She wasn't mean—she was just wrapped up, in her own world, forgetting to buy food, so I started cooking. My sister and I didn't like her."

At the age of 37, Linda Gray took her life into her own hands and began taking acting lessons with young talents. Actor Dennis Weaver noticed her talent and helped her get her first real role.

This led to her signing a contract for the role of Sue Ellen Ewing in the TV series Dallas in 1978.

In the next season, Linda Gray became one of the central figures in the series and began to quickly gain popularity. Thanks to her participation, the series topped the ratings among women aged 18 to 49. She became a sex symbol.

Personal tragedy

Linda married her first and only husband, whom she separated from in 1983, photographer Edward Lee Thrasher, when she was 21. They had two children together, and although she enjoyed being a mother, it was her husband who stood in the way of her acting career.

Her son Jeff Thrasher followed in her footsteps and worked as a director. Sadly, he was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away in 2020.

Linda was devastated. She had a hard time taking the loss.

She recently paid tribute to Jeff, writing, "Celebrating the life of my son Jeff. He was the kindest, funniest, sweetest human being… he brought such love into the world and was loved by everyone! May his journey be magical."

Linda Gray remained in the spotlight even after Dallas ended in 1991, returning again in 2012 when the series was revived.

She continues to act in films, but is currently more focused on theater and writing books.

At 84 years old, Linda Gray still looks stunning and enjoys life.
